Jet Ski Hire in Adelaide

If you’re chasing a great deal to put a smile on your face this weekend, then you’re in the right place. Let’s begin!

1. Jet-Tech Performance

My favourite crew is Jet-Tech Performance. Not only do they rent out their jet skis, but they also do routine engine services, upgrades and repairs for existing jet ski owners. It’s fair to say that they’ll look after you whether you’re just hiring for the day or decide to go onwards and buy your own PWC.

2. Adelaide Jet Ski Hire

Instead of going all the way up to the Riverland region, you could drive just 30 minutes from the CBD and get Tony and his team at Adelaide Jet Ski Hire to take you on an epic tour. Really great value and they offer Afterpay too!

My recommendation is the O’Sullys Ultimate Trek which goes for 3 hours. You’ll start at O’Sullivan’s Beach and head past the Glenelg Jetty and right up to Outer Harbour. Just an epic ride that I highly recommend during those balmy summer days.

3. Wild Rides Jetski Tours

For those that enjoy heading out to the Murray River, Wild Rides Jetski Tours is the company to be hitting up. They are based at the Riverglen Marina which is about 10 minutes south of Murray Bridge where you’ll find plenty of houseboats.

The waterways here are really calm so if you want to avoid the swell of the ocean or Lake Albert, then this would be my best recommendation. Try and go mid-week and outside of school holidays if you can to avoid all the ski boats and other busyness of the river.

4. SA Jet Ski Tours

Update: SA Jet Ski Tours has since ceased trading as of November, 2021.

How Much Does It Cost To Hire a Jet Ski in South Australia?

For 30-minute rides, you can expect to be paying $90 to $100, while a 3-hour ocean tour will set you back around $300. The latter represents far greater value and a truly exhilarating (and exhausting) experience, as a 30-minute ride can get quite boring.

Most Common Riding Areas

The most common place you’ll be able to hire a jet ski is the Murray River down near Goolwa, followed by the Port River. It’s less likely to be able to hire a jet ski on the open ocean due to the swell, especially in winter. There are some that offer tours into the open ocean but you won’t be able to head out riding unsupervised. What To Bring

As we’ve covered in our jet ski clothing article, it’s best to bring a rashie, shorts, hat, sunglasses, sunscreen and gloves at a minimum. Don’t forget water in summer because those heatwaves are nasty!

Should You Buy A Jet Ski Afterwards?

We know that it will be really tempting to start window-shopping on Sea-Doo and Yamaha’s PWC websites or even sneak into the dealership. We have done the comparison of renting vs buying and given that it’s Adelaide, your jet ski will probably be garaged for 8 months of the year. Most people will be better off just renting every 2nd weekend.

Watch those crocs! Heaps of great ocean riding around Darwin-year round, apart from the wet season which sees too much debris enter the ocean, and where you can’t safely pin the throttle.

Fortunately for you, I’ve done the research! I’ve created this guide to help you figure out where the most popular areas are. Whether you’re going for a rental or you own your own jet ski, this page will help you have a more enjoyable day out there on the waterways.

The most popular Rhode Island jet ski areas are:

1. Newport Harbor

Newport really gets my tick of approval for a place to experience on your own jet ski. If you’re not quite there yet, then don’t despair as there are numerous rental shops here which can offer you a jet ski for a very reasonable price. For the more adventurous folk, head on an organized tour where you’ll get to see sides of Rhode Island that some people will never get to experience.

2. Misquamicut Beach

Another top spot is Misquamicut Beach which is just epic. The cove inlets is a hit with families as well as thrill-seekers abound. If I wanted to tow tubes then this is where I’d be aiming to do it! Although this isn’t possible if you’re just hiring one for a few hours, which makes all the more reason to consider buying a jet ski yourself.

3. Narrangasett Bay

This is another recommended area and is best for beginners. It’s the type of place that makes a great base for which to explore just about the entire area. In Google Maps, type in Conanicut Marine and you’ll find several boat ramps close by but they can get busy on weekends in the warmer months.

4. Brewer Grenwich Bay

The last on our list is Warwick. If you head to the Brewer Greenwich Bay Marina then you’ll be able to launch your jet ski on their well-maintained boat ramp or choose a rental. Another top spot this one to base yourself for one incredible adventure. Insider secret: The food here is one of the best-kept secrets in the entire state.

Getting Started

Now at a stretch, you can actually ride from Providence all the way to Long Island and return with a jet ski. It isn’t for the faint-hearted and it’s best that you have a few months of experience on the handlebars. You might want to take some extra fuel as well!

You naturally wouldn’t think of Connecticut as a place where you’d be able to ride jet skis if you’re out of state.

As it turns out, there are several awesome places that the locals have known about for many years. The problem is that they haven’t been so willing to share this information out with anyone else…until I let the cat out of the bag!

When I got started in the world of PWC ownership, I didn’t know where to go riding. Years later when I started this website, I decided that it would be best to compile the best places to go riding and here we are today.

This is where jet skis in Connecticut are typically ridden:

1. Candlewood Lake

One of the most epic places to ride jet skis in Candlewood Lake. It’s man-made and is the largest body of freshwater in Connecticut and perfect for getting loose out there on the throttle! Whether you’re just renting or you own a PWC, you’ll more than love this place!

If you’re looking to take the family along then they’ll love the scenery and the walking trails as well as camping and fishing opportunities. Don’t forget to bring the tubes along as well for a fun day out there on the water. Really – this spot has it all for the total watersports enthusiast.

2. Long Island Sound

Long Island Sound is another epic place to let the throttle open. While it has more swell than most inland lakes, don’t let that discourage you because otherwise, you’ll miss out on some of the best possible experiences in the state! You really can cover a lot of distances here so I’d recommend taking an extra gas can and GPS to check where you are since cell signal can be a little weak.

3. Lower Housatonic River

You’ll find the Lower Housatonic River right near the bottom of the Derby Dam. While it isn’t the biggest place to explore, there are still islands you can circle around as well as a restaurant for when you need a break. If you get a little bored, you can head right out into Long Island Sound quite easily.

4. Coventry Lake

Coventry Lake wouldn’t be my #1 choice when it comes to places to ride, but still worth checking out if you’ve done everything else already. There are no wash/no wake rules as well as speed limits to reduce noise. That said – the scenery here more than makes up for the restrictions and you’ll probably want to move out here when you see how beautiful and quiet the area is after dark.

5. Gardiners Bay

If you cross into New York State, then you’ll come across Gardiners Bay. You’ll need to go into Long Island Sound to get here and there is so much in which to explore including Gardiners Island and even out to New Shoreham.
